Lagartera is a very old form of hand embroidery, originating from a
village in Spain name Lagartera. Its traditionally worked on even weave
linen using satin stitches, often with outlined running stitch done in black
or brown thread. The use of a double running stitch is used to create
many patterns to work in with the satin stitch blocks.
